About Bullion Beacon
Bullion Beacon is a publication that explains how physical precious metals work: buying them, storing them, holding them in retirement accounts and selling them.
What we publish
We write plain-English guides on gold, silver, platinum and palladium, the IRS rules that govern metals in retirement accounts, and the companies that sell them. We point to primary sources such as the IRS, the Federal Reserve, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Geological Survey and the World Gold Council so readers can check our work.
How we are funded
The site is supported by affiliate commissions. If you request information or become a customer of a company we link to, we may be paid. That is why every page carries a disclosure at the top. You can read the full affiliate disclosure and our editorial policy.
What we are not
Bullion Beacon is not a financial advisor, broker, tax preparer or law firm, and nothing on this site is personalized advice. Precious metals prices can go down as well as up. Please talk to a licensed professional about your own circumstances.
